The trial court judge had also cautioned the IMA chief that loose comments can't be expected from a person chairing a responsible post. Justice Asha Menon said the court will not pass any ex parte order and posted the plea for June 16 to hear the stand of the person complaint the trial court had passed the order on June 4. The high court said it will have to look into the order passed by the trial court and cannot take a superficial view. In his plea, the IMA president sought to stay the observations made against him saying they were affecting his reputation as he was heading a body of 3.5 lakh doctors as its members. He countended that there was no television debate between Jayalal and Yoga guru Ramdev and that he was not propagating any religion, including Christanity, and that the suit before the district court was based on fake news. Additional district judge Ajay Goel had, earlier passed the order on a plea against Jayalal for allegedly starting a defamatory campaign against the Hindu relgion "by way of promoting Christianity, in the garb of proving superiority of allopathic medicines over ayurveda in treatment of Covid-19 patients. Goel concluded that no injuction is needed based on the assurance given by Jayalal that he will not indulge in such kind of activity and had noted that the plea seemed to be an offshot of a verbal due with respect to allopathy vs ayurveda. He had also quoted in his order a couplet written by poet, Mohd Iqbal.
